MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich.- In a commanding performance at the 2023 USPHL Detroit Showcase, the Chicago Crush Elite demonstrated their prowess on the ice, securing a resounding 7-1 victory against the Decatur Blaze. The game showcased the Crush Elite's offensive firepower and solid defensive play, leaving fans at Mount Clemens on the edge of their seats.

The second period proved to be the turning point, as the Chicago Crush Elite erupted with an impressive four-goal spree. Austin Kessel kicked things off at 6:29, showcasing his scoring prowess and setting the tone for the period. Decatur Blaze responded with a power-play goal from Hammad Khan at 9:05, but the Crush Elite quickly regained control.

Kevin McKenna, Vincent Cerrentano, and Brody Luzbetak followed suit, each finding the back of the net and contributing to the team's commanding lead. The Crush Elite's offensive onslaught left Decatur Blaze struggling to keep up.

Vincent Cerrentano continued to shine as a key offensive force for the Crush Elite, completing a hat trick with goals at 16:56 in the second period, 3:05 in the third period, and another at 13:21 on a shorthanded play. Cerrentano's exceptional performance highlighted his scoring ability and crucial contributions to the team's success.


While the Crush Elite dominated on the scoreboard, penalties played a role in the game. The team faced a total of 18 penalty minutes, with notable infractions including cross-checking, interference, roughing, and tripping. However, the penalty kill unit stood strong, limiting Decatur Blaze to just one power-play goal on seven opportunities.


In the crease, goaltender Christopher Stamos delivered a stellar performance, stopping 14 of 15 shots faced. Stamos played a pivotal role in maintaining the Crush Elite's lead and securing the team's victory.


The Chicago Crush Elite's victory at the USPHL Detroit Showcase adds another positive chapter to their season. With a record of 6-5-0-2, the team looks to build on this momentum in the upcoming games.
