MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich.- Mount Clemens Ice Arena was ablaze with action on Saturday, November 18, 2023, as the Chicago Crush Elite clashed with the Elmira Impact in a heated battle that left fans in awe. In a game that showcased both skill and intensity, the Chicago Crush emerged victorious with a final score of 3-1.

The first period set the tone for the game, with the Chicago Crush taking an early lead at the 11:03 mark. Cole Darlas, with a precision shot assisted by Leo Riani, found the back of the net, putting the Crush up by one. The Elmira Impact faced penalty trouble, with Tristan Ehrie receiving a major penalty for hitting from behind, leading to a power play for the Crush.

The intensity escalated in the second period, as Ryan Parkin took center stage for the Crush. At 6:04, Parkin netted the second goal of the game, assisted by Tyler Rentner, securing the game-winning goal. The Crush continued to dominate, with Parkin striking again at 18:24, this time assisted by Jaden Yuknis and Austin Kessel.


Elmira Impact fought back in the third period, with Payton Hathaway finding the back of the net at 11:53, assisted by Eian Robinson and Fin Shibler. Despite their efforts, the Impact couldn't break through the Crush's defense for an equalizer.

The game featured a flurry of penalties, reaching its climax with a major fight at 16:21. Ian Wandell of Elmira and Cole Darlas of the Crush engaged in a spirited bout, leading to disqualifications for both players. The physicality of the game didn't go unnoticed, with a total of 36 penalty minutes for the Impact and 39 for the Crush.


In the crease, Ilan Walny for the Chicago Crush showcased brilliance, making 24 saves out of 25 shots. His stellar performance played a pivotal role in securing the victory for the Crush. On the Elmira side, despite a goalie change, William St. Denis faced relentless pressure, ultimately allowing three goals.

The Chicago Crush dominated in shots on goal, registering 39 compared to Elmira's 25. Both teams faced challenges on the power play, with neither capitalizing on the opportunities presented. The Crush's aggressive offensive strategy and solid defensive play secured them a well-deserved win.


As the final buzzer sounded, the Chicago Crush celebrated their hard-fought victory, solidifying their presence in the 2023 USPHL Detroit Showcase. The game showcased the resilience and skill of both teams, leaving fans eager for more thrilling matchups in the games to come.
