DECATUR, Ill.- In a commanding performance, the Chicago Crush Elite hockey team skated to a convincing 7-2 victory over divisional rivals, the Decatur Blaze, at the Decatur Civic Center. The Crush's relentless offensive onslaught and disciplined defensive play showcased their prowess, extending their winning streak to four games.
The opening period set the tone for the game as both teams battled for control. Decatur Blaze drew first blood on the power play with Dylan Kennedy finding the back of the net at 2:27. However, the Crush quickly responded, with Tyler Rentner tying the game just 31 seconds later. Goals from Brody Luzbetak, Austin Kessel, and Jaden Yuknis further asserted the Crush's dominance, giving them a commanding 4-1 lead by the end of the first period.
The Crush continued their offensive onslaught in the second period. Anthony Frachalla extended the lead to 5-1 with a power-play goal at 6:17.
