OAK FOREST, IL - In his first season with the Chicago Crush Elite squad, Connor Edwards (’07) has already made waves. The talented rookie defenseman was named the Midwest Division Player of the Month for November, a well-deserved honor that underscores his immense contributions to the Crush’s recent success.
November was a banner month for both Edwards and the Chicago Crush. Riding a five-game win streak to kick off the month, Edwards played a pivotal role in the team’s continued dominance. Over the course of November, he registered seven points, including his first-ever USPHL goal on November 23. The milestone moment was a testament to Edwards’s versatility and knack for stepping up when his team needs him most.
Edwards has proven to be a steady force on the blue line for the Crush, showcasing a maturity beyond his years. In 21 games this season, he has tallied 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) and consistently demonstrated his ability to facilitate plays and create scoring opportunities from the back end.
“Connor’s growth has been fun to watch,” said Chicago Crush Head Coach Phil Bushbacher. “For a rookie, he’s shown incredible composure and work ethic. His ability to read the game and contribute both defensively and offensively has been a key factor in our success this season.”
What makes Edwards’s achievement even more impressive is his seamless transition into the USPHL Elite level. With only 4 penalty minutes to his name this season, he’s exhibited disciplined play, earning the trust of his coaches and teammates alike. Edwards’s impact goes beyond the stat sheet—he’s a team-first player who consistently makes those around him better.
As the Chicago Crush march deeper into the 2024-2025 campaign, Edwards will undoubtedly remain a cornerstone of the team’s efforts to maintain their winning momentum. This Player of the Month accolade is just the beginning for a young defenseman with limitless potential.
From the entire Chicago Crush organization, congratulations Connor Edwards on this outstanding achievement!
