OAK FOREST, IL - The Chicago Crush’s rising star goaltender, Lukas Janicina, has been named the Midwest Division Player of the Week, a well-deserved honor that highlights his exceptional performance and dedication to the game.

Hailing from Bratislava, Slovakia, Janicina (‘06) showcased his brilliance between the pipes in a thrilling matchup against the MJDP. Facing a relentless barrage of 49 shots, Janicina stood tall, turning aside 47 and allowing only two goals in regulation.


His heroics didn’t stop there—he followed up with a masterful performance in the shootout, stopping eight of nine attempts to secure the victory for the Crush. This win marked his fifth of the season and second in a row, underscoring his pivotal role in the team’s success.

Through nine games this season, Janicina has accumulated an impressive record of five wins and three losses, with one shootout loss. His stat line reveals a goaltender with a remarkable blend of resilience and skill:
